Granite Steps and Bluestone Landing Entrance Rebuild

A tired home entrance can make the whole property feel dated - even if everything else is in great shape. That's exactly what we were working with here. The existing setup just wasn't cutting it anymore, and the homeowner wanted something that actually matched the feel of the property. So we got to work on a full entrance overhaul: solid granite steps, a bluestone landing, crisp curved edging, and fresh planting beds.

Granite is one of our favorite materials for steps like these. It's dense, it handles freeze-thaw cycles well, and it looks great for decades without much fuss. You can see the whole crew working through the installation - leveling each tread carefully, setting the bluestone landing pieces to fit cleanly between the runs of steps. Nothing here is just dropped in place. Every stone gets checked with a level before we move on.

The curved edging going in along the border is what ties the whole thing together. It defines where the planting beds start and gives the entrance a clean, finished edge rather than that soft, undefined look where the grass just sort of fades into everything else. Small detail - big difference. Once the plantings fill in, this entrance is going to look like it always belonged here.

This is the kind of work that changes how a home feels from the moment you pull into the driveway. It's not just cosmetic either. Properly set stone steps with good drainage and level treads are safer and hold up far better than alternatives. Built right, this entrance isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
