This one right here is the kind of job that gets us fired up - no pun intended. A lakeshore property in New Prague, a large curved paver patio, and a built-in fire pit centerpiece. The setting alone is incredible, but what really matters is that the work has to hold up. Lakefront sites are tough. The ground shifts, moisture is constant, and there's no hiding sloppy prep work once it settles.

That's exactly why we don't cut corners on the base. Before a single paver goes down, the groundwork has to be right. Proper grading, compacted base material, landscape fabric - all of it done methodically so the surface stays level and locked in for years. On a site like this, that prep work is everything.

The patio itself features a large-format paver field in a mix of charcoal and warm earth tones, bordered with a clean light-colored soldier course that wraps the curved edge. It's a sharp contrast that outlines the shape of the patio and gives it that finished, intentional look. The fire pit is centered and built into the patio with a radiating ring of pavers around a steel insert - the kind of detail that takes time to get right and shows the moment you see it.

The boulder wall running along the back of the property ties everything together. It's not just decorative - it holds the slope, handles drainage, and creates a natural boundary between the upper yard and the lakeshore space. Hardscape projects like this one involve a lot of moving parts, and every piece has a purpose.

Our crew put in solid work on this one from base prep all the way through the fire pit ring. The goal is always the same - build it so it looks great on day one and still looks great ten years from now. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.
