We've been busy out at Spirit of Brandtjen Farm in Lakeville getting a paver patio installed and the surrounding landscape shaped up. This is exactly the kind of backyard project that goes from "we need more usable space" to a finished outdoor area you actually want to spend time in.
The patio itself is laid out right off the screened porch - a clean, tight paver field that connects the indoor living space directly to the backyard. Getting that transition right matters. When the patio flows naturally from the house, the whole yard feels more intentional and more functional.
One thing that stands out on this job is how the boulder placement ties into the surrounding bed areas. Large natural boulders are set into the landscape around the patio perimeter, and the soil prep work happening around them is just as important as the pavers themselves. A patio that's installed well on top of poorly prepared surroundings won't hold up - and it won't look right either.
We'll be wrapping up at this Lakeville site before moving on to jobs in Victoria and Chaska. Each stop has its own scope, but the approach stays consistent - good prep, clean installs, and details that hold up over time.
If you've been sitting on a patio project and haven't pulled the trigger yet, now's a good time to get on the schedule before summer gets away from you.
